Academic advising is available to current students in the form of in-person and over the phone appointments. There are three ways in which a student can schedule an appointment: by phone, by MyConnect/Starfish, or by walking into the office. Most appointments last approximately 30 minutes.

How To Schedule An Appointment

Starfish is the most convenient way to schedule an advising appointment. You can access Starfish in MyGateway. Log into MyGateway using your SSO ID & password. After you log into MyGateway click the Students tab. Schedule an 'Advising Appointment' is located in Academic Planning Tools.

The "Schedule an Advising Appointment" link will direct you to Starfish.  First time Starfish users please set up your profile.

Students can also access Starfish by going to umsl.edu, click current students, then click MyConnect to log into Starfish with your SSO ID and Password.


When you arrive at the office for your appointment please check-in at the kiosk located on the reception desk. You can also use the kiosk to be added to the walk-in queue or to schedule a future appointment.

Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. So plan ahead and make your appointment today!
